SSMA’s position paper on the Market Integration and Supervision Package (MISP)

In December 2025, the European Commission published the Market Integration and Supervision Package (MISP). The Swedish Securities Markets Association (SSMA) welcomes the European Commission’s ambition to strengthen EU capital markets and supports the overarching goals of market integration and increased competitiveness but would like to emphasise that well-functioning local ecosystems remain crucial.

The SSMA broadly supports the Commission’s objectives but urges policymakers to ensure that new rules are proportionate, practical, and do not undermine local market functioning or competitiveness. The association calls for further analysis, stakeholder dialogue, and careful implementation to avoid unintended consequences.
