Nordic comments on the FASTER ”Way to report”

The Swedish Securities Markets Association has in collaboration with Finance Sweden, Finance Denmark and Finance Finland put together a response to the European Commission’s consultation on how to report data in the context of the FASTER directive on withholding tax.

Overall, the Nordic associations appreciate the efforts to reduce complexity and support the aim of harmonising reporting across Member States. Having said that, the reporting model still contains uncertainties, operational risks, and there is a need for further clarification on several practical and legal aspects. Also, the two‑week consultation period is too short for such important and detailed proposals.
