Fredrik Bonthron, Chief Economist of the Swedish Securities Markets Association has been appointed as Member of the Consultative Working Group to the ESMA Risk Standing Committee – Financial Stability and Orderly Markets
Fredrik Bonthron, Chief Economist of the Swedish Securities Markets Association (SSMA) has been appointed as Member of the Consultative Working Group (CWG) to the Risk Standing Committee – Financial Stability and Orderly Markets (RSC) of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
The main tasks of the RSC are to coordinate financial stability issues and to conduct the assessment of risks and the analysis of market trends. ESMA has established the CWG to benefit from the expertise of stakeholders who are specialized in the topics related to financial stability and orderly markets, under ESMA’s remit (securities markets, market infrastructures, institutional and retail investors) and with a view to support ESMA’s objectives of investor protection, market integrity and financial stability. The RSC will look to this group to provide expert advice regarding ESMA’s analytical work on financial stability and orderly markets.
The CWG to RSC consists of 20 representatives of organizations that plays and important role for financial markets in the European Union incl. financial participants and financial services intermediaries, representatives of retail investors and users of financial services, and academics.
